Veteran Gear Page now active to request and donate items.

Posted by yfire4 on May 25, 2010

A new Veteran Gear Coordinator Page is available which allows you to view available donated items, request items, and donate items. Click on the Veteran Gear Coordinator link on the right side of the home page and you can view available items already donated by members of the troop. Once you sign in, you can complete a form to donate an item for others to use or to request an item which you need from the list. This form will be automatically forwarded to the Vet Gear Coordinator and then he can respond to your request directly via e-mail.

This is a great way to get an item which you need without expense and to put to good use those items which you no longer need. There are plenty of scouts who can benefit from donated items and for those who donate, this is a good way to make sure that those items you donate will be put to good use by your fellow scouts.

Please check it out.

Posted by Mark Abell on May 13, 2010

Lost Creek WildernessThe June High Adventure Campout will be a 4-day backpacking trek into the Lost Creek Wilderness.  We will leave the church at 4:00 pm on Thursday, June 17, and will return on Sunday afternoon. During the Trek we expect to backpack 15 or more miles over 2 1/2 days, while exploring the unique geologic monoliths that are present in the Lost Creek Wilderness.

The trek is open to scouts 13 years old or older and First Class Rank or higher. To find out more, and to sign up, click here.

This is a great prep trip for Philmont and Northern Tier, but you don’t have to be going to these National High Adventure Bases to come.

Mock Disaster

Posted by Lisa Denton on May 5, 2010

Usually when I post things here I am speaking to the scouts or trying to get volunteers to staff an event for the scouts.  Today I am going to break tradition.

First and foremost I would like to say that I am truely grateful to be in an organization with so many wonderful people.  I know we all got involved in scouts for our sons.  But they are not the only ones who benefit.  I have made many, many friends right here in Troop 16.

So… I would like to thank you all for giving up your Tuesdays and helping to put on such a wonderful program for all our boys.  Thanks to those of you who go camping with our boys so many times a year.  Thanks to all of you who spend countless hours organizing, planning, counseling and mentoring.

But especially, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for letting us squirt fake blood all over you!  :)

To everyone involved in the Mock Disasters…You are the BEST!
