Hello from Summer Camp 2010
Posted by Mark Abell on June 29, 2010The boys send a happy and hearty ‘hello’ to all those back home. I am pleased to report that everyone is having a great time at summer camp so far. The camp has kept us very busy, with a very well run program. For more information, follow our Summer Camp story on the Summer Camp 2010 Blog Page.
We love you all and look forward to telling you all our stories when we get home. See you Saturday!
Summer Camp: Important Medicine Info
Posted by Mark Abell on June 24, 2010For any scout or scouter attending Summer Camp that will bring medicine of any kind (over-the-counter or prescription), please note the following rules:
- All medicine should be brought in a large ziploc or similar bag with the scout’s name and “Troop 16″ marked on it in permanent marker.
- All medications should be in the original pharmacy containers with full label instructions. (For inhalers, this typically means they should be in the original box with the prescription label showing the boy’s name, unless this label is affiixed to the inhaler bottle.)
In addition, please review the Ben Delatour camp policy on medication.

Vacation Bible School Volunteer Opportunity
Posted by Al on June 22, 2010The Church is looking for up to 8 Scouts to volunteer on July 19th to teach compass
and orienteering skills during the first day of Vacation Bible School. This is an
excellent opportunity for Scouts needing advancement or school service hours and for
Scouts to teach using the EDGE method.
One Scout is needed to oversee the team during this session. The web page says this
needs to be 18 years old but I believe this can be any Scout 13 or older who has
achieved the First Class rank.
If you are interested please sign up on the Church web site at
https://www.groupvbspro.com/vbs/ez/parkerumckids/gpgs/volunteer.aspx.
Any questions can be directed to the person listed at the link above or to Mr. Hardy.
