Congratulations to Steve Denton
Posted by Mark Abell on July 11, 2010Please join me in congratulating Steve Denton, Troop 16 Eagle Scout, for being awarded a $2500 scholarship grant by the National Eagle Scout selection committee. It is funded by the Mabel & Lawrence S. Cooke Eagle Scout scholarship endowment fund. There were over 1900 applications submitted for the NESA academic scholarships, and Steve was selected as a recipient. To my knowledge, this is the first scholarship of its kind awarded to a Troop 16 scout.
Jump Street Fun Night

On July 27th, all of our senior scouts and much of our adult leadership will be at National High Adventure Bases, so there is no regular Troop Meeting. Instead, to celebrate, several of the boys have decided to meet at Jump Street Littleton to have a Fun Night. The cost is $10 per person. They will meet at 7:00 pm.

This is an unofficial event, which means that each boy is attending on their own, not as an official troop function. (Parents, please plan on staying if your son attends.) Each boy that attends MUST have a signed WAIVER FORM. For more information and for directions, follow this link to Jump Street.
Congratulations Connor C.

Please join me in congratulating our Senior Patrol Leader, Connor C. as our newest Eagle Scout. His name has been forever added to the Troop 16 rolls of Eagle Scouts at #87.
Last night, Connor sat before his Eagle Board of Review which consisted of Mr. Scott Dahm, father of two new T16 scouts, Mr. Tyler Ames, a T16 Eagle Scout and student at UNC, Mr. Lee Benjamin, Scoutmaster of Troop 469, and Mr. Dick Reynolds, Eagle Scout and Connor’s District Eagle Advisor. I am told all were very impressed with Connor and that he passed his Board with flying colors.
Connor’s Eagle Project was focused on providing a venue to introduce young students to Theatre through a Theatre Day Camp.
Congratulations Connor! We are so proud of you!
