Camp Hosts Needed for Monthly Campouts

Posted by Colleen Combest on July 9, 2019

Our scouts have selected some exciting campouts coming up in the second half of 2019.  We need adults to act as Camp Hosts.   Depending on the campout, a camp plan can either be recycled from a previous plan or the camp host(s) can scope out new territory. Some of a Camp Host’s duties are to secure a suitable campsite, coordinate with the webmaster to post an announcement and registration page, and reconcile reimbursements with the treasurer. You don’t have to be a professional camper (no one is) to be a Camp Host. No prior hosting experience is necessary and help and encouragement are readily available. As an added benefit, the named Camp Host and son receive free registration to that month’s campout.

If you would like to be a Camp Host for one of our upcoming weekends or if you would like to assist the campout in another way, please contact Outdoor Activities Coordinator, Brian Kamm.  Text 303-828-8280 or email briankamm@icloud.com

Upcoming Events:

  • August 16-18 – Climb a 14er. We can recycle plans for climbing Mt. Quandary or Mt. Sherman or pick a new mountain. Camp Host would locate a suitable mountain climb and nearby campsite in either a developed campground or National Forest dispersed camping and coordinate registration.
  • September 20-22 – Cave of the Winds campout.
  • October 18-20  – Shooting Sports at Peaceful Valley.  We need a Camp Host and Instructors/RSOs
  • November 15-17 – Adventure Race at Peaceful Valley (Webelos recruiting event).  We need a Camp Host and a Gamemaster for this event.
