You worked so hard for Parker Days.  It’s time for a reward!  It’s time again for the Troop 16 annual picnic. Make sure you mark June 13, 2017 on your calendars to enjoy some swimming, hot dogs & hamburgers and fun with fellow Troop 16 members. This event is for the whole family. Les Stroud – Survivorman TV Series

Do you have the skills to survive after a plane crash in the Colorado Wilderness?  This is your chance to demonstrate or learn the skills needed to Survive!  The world famous Troop 16 Survivorman Challenge is back with some new challenges and guaranteed to test your limits!  This campout requires a lot of adult help to make this happen.  Scouts – get your parents to join us – no prior survival skills are necessary for parents to attend (only YPT training)!

This campout is for ALL Troop 16 scouts.

November 2016 Campout & Adventure Race

pb140876The Adventure Race is back for November 2016!  The Adventure Race is a scouting skills and games competition that is designed by/for Troop 16 to help Webelos see what the Boy Scouts and Troop 16 is like.  No other Boy Scout Troop hosts an event like this!

The game has been refined with new challenges and adult help is needed for the day.

Parker Area Webelos and their parents are invited join us for the day and join the race.  Webelos will compete and are guided by a Troop 16 Scout/Sherpa!

There will also be a Feast/Dinner and Skit/Awards show on Saturday after the Race.  This is optional for Webelos and Webelos Parents to attend.  Troop 16 families are invited to join as well.

August 2016 – Cooking Campout

/home/troop27/public html/v3/wp content/uploads/2016/07/cookingBack by popular demand is the Cooking Merit Badge campout!  This August the troop will work on this Eagle Required merit badge and will be camping at Devil’s Head.

The close proximity of Devil’s head will allow us to setup camp and take a rare night hike on Friday.  During the hike we will cook a meal as part of our requirements.   /home/troop27/public html/v3/wp content/uploads/2016/07/cooking merit badge

By completing the hike, scouts will also be able to get signoff on a Camping merit badge requirement to complete a hike with over a 1,000 foot ascent.

June 2016 Campout

This will be a fun filled weekend that will consist of swimming, water skiing, wakeboarding, kayaking, tubing, with games and a fire on the beach.  Click here for information and signup.

 

Swim tests are required for all Adults and Scouts prior to going into the water for this trip and Summer Camp!

It’s time again for the Troop 16 annual picnic.  Make sure you mark June 14, 2016 on your calendars to enjoy some swimming, bbq and fun with fellow Troop 16 members.  This event is for the whole family. We need families to bring sides and deserts.  We also need everyone to sign up for planning purposes by June 7th, 2016.

ALL Scouts and adults going to Summer Camp and ALL  June Campers need to attend in order to complete the Annual Swim Check.

2016 Survivorman Challenge – CLOSED

/home/troop27/public html/v3/wp content/uploads/2016/04/survivorman challenge logoREMINDER: The signup for 2016 Survivorman Challenge is fast approaching and ends on Tuesday (5/10) at midnight!

The Internationally recognized Troop 16 SURVIVORMAN Challenge is coming May 20th-22nd, 2016. The sign-up and information pages have now been posted, and it is time to sign up.

This year, the theme is “Behind Enemy Lines” and we are changing the challenges yet again. The Level 1 Challenge will be a challenge for our First Year Scouts, and will include Trail to First Class Challenges at each point on the map. The Level 2 scouts will face a variety of scout skills and survival challenges while hunting for the Level 3 scouts.  Level 3, will be “Behind Enemy Lines” and must demonstrate Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) skills to evade capture by Level 2 and Level 1 Scouts.

Parents and Scouters: We need you! To pull this campout off, we need at least 24 adults to sign up to help in base camp, at Command Posts and as judges out in the field. No experience needed. We will train you.
