Okpik 2011 Sign Up

The sign up for Okpik 2011 is online now.  This is a great weekend experience at Tahosa High Adventure Base learning how to build quinzees, a type of snow shelter, and spending the night in them.  This will take place February 18-20, 2011. Participants must be at least 13 and First Class in rank. For more information and to sign up click here.

October 2010 Camporee Sign-Up is Here!

This month’s campout is the Fall Camporee put on by our own Pioneer Trails District.  Events will be centered on Emergency Preparedness, First Aid, Safety, Emergency Communications, The 4 Historical Merit Badges, and the 100^th Anniversary of Scouting.  You will have the opportunity to work towards the completion of the Signaling, Tracking, Path Finding, or Carpentry Merit Badges.  There will also be competitive events such as search and rescue, stretcher race, zip line, camp inspection, and others.  This should be a great time for all and a wonderful chance to learn something and have fun!

Sept. Pioneering Campout sign-up now available!

The sign-up page for the September Pioneering Campout on the 17th-19th is now active! 

We will be building bridges, towers, and maybe even catapults at this annual campout, back by popular demand.  This will be a great opportunity to work on your pioneering skills at Tahosa High Adventure Base. 

This is a particularly good campout for Webelos to attend.  We will be making a special effort to get Webelos and their families involved in the weekend’s events.  They will get their hands dirty and may even learn a knot or lashing in the process.

Please reach out to your Webelos friends and other Packs and encourage them to attend this Troop 16 event.  Webelos should contact either Mrs. Veto or Mr. Kjar for more information.

August Campout Sign-up is online now!

The sign-up for the August campout, which is a short backpacking trip to Ptarmigan Lake west of Buena Vista, is online now. It will be on August 20-22 and the sign-up deadline is Tuesday August 10th.  To sign up go to the Camping & Activities page, or click here.
