Looking for a new kind of adventure? Always wanted to sail the high seas? Do sailboats, SCUBA diving, Shipwrecks, fishing, and the ocean sound like fun for Spring Break? Well then, we’ve got just the trip for you!

CREW SEA BASE SPRING BREAK 2017

What? Crew 16 has been awarded 1 treks for Spring Break 2017, a SCUBA Live Aboard Adventure (Description Below)!

When? Spring Break 2017: The trek departs from Denver Friday, March 17, 2017 and arrives at Sea Base, Saturday, March 18, 2017, returning on Saturday, March 25, 2017.

Where? Sea Base National High Adventure Base – Islamorada, FL

Who? Boys and girls that were active Crew 16 members, as of January 15, 2016, and (A) have attained the age of 13 by March 18, 2017 and will have completed 8th grade by June, 2017 OR (B) Boys and girls age 14 by September 01, 2017  and (C) Registered Adults wanting to go.  If trek slots remain after Crew sign-ups, then a lottery for Troop 16 will be offered.

SIGN-UP: This is the official sign-up to see who will go. The sign-up goes live on Sunday, March 6th at 6:00 pm and will close on Tuesday, March 8th, 2017 at 12:00am (midnight). Those that succeed in signing up will need to provide a non-refundable $100/person deposit will be due no later than the March 15th meeting. Sign-up will be first-come, and if filled, will resort to a lottery based system.

COST ESTIMATE: The official 2017 fee schedule has not been posted yet. Estimated costs are $13,500 per crew of 12 or $1,125 per person, plus airfare (estimate $750), car rental (estimate $150-$200), meals (estimate $100), spending money (estimate $100), and a night of lodging (estimate $20). So, the total trek cost is estimated at $2,245 per person to $2,295 per person. To secure your spot, an initial non-refundable deposit of $100 will be due on March 15th, 2016, at the weekly crew meeting.

Trek Description:

SCUBA LIVE ABOARD: The Florida Sea Base has combined the sailing and scuba diving programs for one incredible adventure. On this adventure, you will be spending your days not only scuba diving, but sailing around the Florida Keys. With a crew size of 10 to 12 people, your home will be aboard one 60-foot or two 40-foot sailing yachts. During this adventure (weather permitting) you will dive 15 times, including night dives. When you are not diving, there are plenty of opportunities for sailing and fishing while cruising through the Florida Keys. You must be a certified diver to participate in this program.
