October 2017 Shooting Sports Campout

Description: The September campout will be focused on shooting sports. Saturday will provide the boys with an opportunity to shoot rifles and shotguns for fun, or to work toward completing the rifle and shotgun merit badges.

Who may attend: All scouts and scouters registered with Troop 16 AND any adult scouter registered with Denver Area Council. A medical form (Parts A and B only – no doctor signature required) must be on file with the troop to attend. Anyone wishing to shoot firearms must have completed a Home Firearm Safety course.  presented by the troop. When: October  20-22, 2017 We will meet at the Church at 4:00 p.m. on the 16th and return between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on the 22nd.

Where: We will be camping Friday and Saturday night in the Sedalia campsite of the Peaceful Valley Boy Scout Ranch.

Who is in Charge: Camp Host: Mr.Sanford, During live fire activities, Mr. Williams will provide shotgun instruction, Mr. Pearson will provide rifle instruction. While any range is active, an RSO will be in charge of safety issues. The RSO will be identified in the camp plan documentation.

Cost: Standard campout fee of $20. All participants will be charged for rifle and shotgun usage. The signup page has more information on the costs.

Sign-up Deadline: October 10th, 2017, midnight.

What to Bring: Scouts should bring their tents and normal camping gear. See the gear section of the website for gear checklists. The following special gear should also be brought. DO NOT BRING FIREARMS OR AMMUNITION.
