February 2018 – Winter Survival Challenge and Tubing

Description: Quinzee Building and Tubing

Who may attend: All scouts and scouters registered with Troop 16 AND any adult scouter registered with Denver Area Council. A medical form (Parts A, B) must be on file with the troop to attend.

When:  Feb 23-25 2018.

Where: St. Louis campground outside of Fraser Colorado (link)

Who is in Charge: Brian Kamm

Cost: Standard campout fee of $20,  & bring tubing fee of $22 and signed waiver (see below) if you wish to attend the tubing activity.

Sign-up Deadline: February 13, 2018.

What to Bring: Scouts should bring their tents and normal cold camping gear. See the gear section of the website for gear checklists(link).

The following special gear should also be brought: Snow shovel, Water proof gloves, Snow shoes (optional)

WAIVER REQUIRED

A waiver is required for the tubing hill.  Please print the waiver from here and return it to camp host.  Since the tubing hill is steep and unregulated, all scouts will need the waiver signed by their parents in order to participate in the tubing.

Colorado weather in February will be cold. Be prepared for extreme cold temperatures with snow.

All adults attending must be registered and able to show current YPT Training.
