January 2018 – Polar Bear Challenge at Snow Mtn Ranch

Description: Join us for the 2018 Polar Bear campout on January 19-21.  We will camp at YMCA of the Rockies Snow Mountain Ranch near Winter Park.  At an elevation of 8,800 feet we will have an excellent chance of earning the Denver Area Council Polar Bear Club patch for camping in sub-zero degree temperatures.  This is a tremendously fun campout with opportunities to use the many facilities at the YMCA including the Kiva recreation center and the tubing hill.  Scouts will be taught important cold weather camping strategies to ensure they are warm during the cold nights.  Signup deadline is January 9 and camp prep will be January 16.  Scouts and Scouters of all ages will have a blast on this campout.

Who may attend: All scouts and scouters registered with Troop 16 AND any adult scouter registered with Denver Area Council. A medical form (Parts A, B & C – no doctor signature IS required) must be on file with the troop to attend.

When: January 19 – 21, 2018.
