Troop 16’s Annual Picnic - Coming Soon!!!

Posted by Lisa Denton on August 1, 2011

Quick! Grab a pen and mark Tuesday, August 9th on your calendar as the day for our awesome Troop 16 Picnic. This year we are having it at the beautiful Castlewood Canyon, south on Hwy 83, past Franktown. We rented the covered pavilion, which is right next to the volleyball, horseshoe and playground areas. The troop will provide paper products, drinks, hamburgers and hotdogs. Get out your old family recipes and dazzle us with your creations - families whose last name starts with A-M, please bring a dessert and families whose last name starts with N-Z, please bring a side dish. The troop is paying for your admission to the park; watch your mailbox for a pass. Help us save money though; please carpool if possible!

ALSO, PLEASE RSVP BY SIGNING UP ONLINE, SO WE KNOW HOW MUCH FOOD TO PURCHASE. CLICK HERE TO FIND OUT MORE AND SIGN UP.

Side Note- Adults looking for a great once-a-year volunteer opportunity… Picnic coordinator position is not available anymore! Thank you David Baumgartner for volunteering for this once-a-year, pretty-darn-easy position! There are plenty of other positions available. Please consider volunteering… Remember our troop is only as awesome as WE make it!

Astronomy Links

Posted by Prescott on April 26, 2011

astronomyIf it wasn’t enough for Dennis and Cheryl Ward to come down from Erie and give a presentation on Astronomy and Citizen Science, they’ve sent along links for some of the software and information they used.  A number of the Scouts were asking for where they could get this kind of info and where they can find the planetarium software the Wards used.  Here it is.  And, thanks again to them for coming.

Planetarium software Dennis used during the presentation:
