Congratulations Jude Curtiss! On November 22nd, Jude became Troop 16’s 169th Eagle Scout. Jude’s Eagle Scout Project was building retaining walls and anti-erosion features near the swim beach at Castlewood Canyon State Park.
The Parker Police Department in partnership with the Parker Senior Center and IREA will be hosting a “Shred-A-Thon” event at Salisbury Equestrian Park. It’s free and open to the public. They are looking for volunteers who will retrieve the documents and paperwork to be shred from the trunks of automobiles and deposited into the DocuVault Shredder where that are destroyed securely and on-site. Please wear your Class A uniforms. Lunch is being provided Parker PD.

Have you ever wanted to build a catapult, a bridge or even a tower? Not sure how to build one? Here is your chance. There will be opportunities to learn and strengthen your Pioneering skills and then put those skills to the test. All within the amazing Camp Tahosa 173 Co Rd 96, Ward, CO 80481. This should be a great time for all and a great chance to work on the Pioneering Merit Badge, rank advancement and of course to have some fun!
Registration is open until Tuesday Oct 5 on TroopTrack. Scouts will meet at the PUMC outdoor stage at 4pm on Oct 8 to load the trailer. Pickup will be mid-morning on Sunday at the McCabe Meadows trailhead across the street.
Meeting location is at the parking lot at the dog park at 17855 Pine Ln, Parker, CO 80134. 7pm Scouts will hike on and off the Cherry Creek Trail at Baldwin Gulch.
DAC Departure Day Screening This form must be filled out for each person attending camp on the departure day. Bring the paper form to camp.
COVID-19 Health Screening: Prior to camp, all participants will be required to monitor symptoms and take a body temperature daily. This will be tracked through CampDoc. If for some reason it cannot be tracked online or days were missed online, a paper form is available here: DAC Pre-Camp Health Screening.
We will need some volunteers to help with check-in and everyone’s help with cleanup at the end. The pool entrance is now at the gate on the north side of the parking lot.
The Denver Broncos and the Denver United Way is hosting the Denver Day of Service on June 4, 2021. Click on the link to find a project or a charity you are interested in helping – or create your own project and send in the pictures. This is not a Troop organized activity but you can earn service hours.
April 27 will be a Troop Meeting to do camp planning for the Survivorman campout at Cimarron Middle School 7-8:30pm . PLC will happen prior to the Troop meeting. The Committee will meet at 7pm – in person – at Cimarron MS rather than on Zoom.
Survived 2020? Test your skills – Survivorman 2021 is coming April 30-May 2! Sign up for this campout to put your survival skills to the test, complete requirements for ranks through First Class and for Wilderness Survival merit badge, and compete with your patrol for the campout’s grand prize. The campout will be held at Peaceful Valley Scout Ranch near Elbert, CO. First year scouts will sleep in tents both nights but compete in a survival themed Level 1 treasure hunt on Saturday. For more experienced scouts, the Level 2 challenge encourages scouts to work together as a patrol to complete survival skills challenges and sleep in a shelter they construct in the wild for Saturday night.
