Well, all the work is done with repairing and upgrading our BSA16.org website. So now for the answer to the burning question of “WHAT HAPPENED”?
Well the cause of the interruption of the access to our website was due to a “perfect storm” of sorts. The hosting site upgraded their server software. Our website was operating on a very old version of WordPress 2.7. The new server software and our old version of WordPress didn’t play very well with one another.
Anyway, as of this post, we are now updated to the most recent version of WordPress 3.6. Everything seems ok but if you discover anything that is missing or acting strange please report it ASAP by filling out the “Website Request Form“.
Thank You
Al Pacheco
Webmaster.

Support Hospitalized American Armed Service Members
Chris is collecting DVDs for the Landsuhl Hospital Care Program supporting the Chaplain’s service program of Landstudl Regional Medical Center. The medical center supports the Armed Services and State Department in Europe, the Middle East and Afghanistan. the DVDs are to be used to entertain and support the morale and welfare of recuperating service members at Landstuhl and the supported regional and field hospitals.
How can you provide support to our hospitalized service members?
- Donate pre-owned DVDs from your household
- Donate a new DVD
Wal-Mart, Big Lots, Sam’s Club and others have a great selection of bargain DVDs
- Provide a monetary donation
- Encourage your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers to participate.
Regular DVDs – not Blue Ray – no extreme violence
A drop box for DVDs and donations will be available every Tuesday night at the Troop 16 Scout Meeting through the end of March 2013. Charitable receipts will be provided on request.
Please consider participating in the success of this project. Many small individual donations will go a long way to supporting the morale and welfare of service members entrusted with defending our freedom and our country.

Come out and volunteer at the Douglas County Outdoor Education Center in Larkspur CO (Directions: http://goo.gl/maps/1fGXS ) for my Eagle Project I will be building a trail and doing fire mitigation and I need lots of help! There will be lots to do including cutting down trees, clearing ground cover, piling wood and brush, laying wood chips, and much more. I will need roughly 20 scouts and 8 adults but there won’t be a limit on volunteers! I also need some people to volunteer to bring tools I have a list of what’s needed so let me know if you have tools that maybe helpful. Lunch and drinks will be provided but try to remember your water bottle and dress according to the weather as this is an outdoor project. Thanks and I hope to see you there!
