It’s Re-Charter Time!

Posted by cvangel on January 21, 2013

Thank you for being a part of Troop 16 and supporting Boys Scouts of America. One of the ways you show your support is by annually renewing your membership in the troop by paying your re-charter fees for both scouts and registered adults. The re-charter amounts are: $27 for first scout, which includes a yearly subscription to Boys’ Life magazine, and $15 for each additional scout and each adult.  Fees for the scouts can be paid by cash, check, or scout accounts.  In addition, all adults must have their current YPT on file. The deadline to have all fees turned in and adult training completed is January 31st. Thank you in advance for making sure the troop’s re-charter process goes smoothly. If you have any questions, please contact Christine Veto.

Your scout(s) will be (or should be) bringing home a form for you to complete on Tuesday, 1/8/13. Please fill out and return to Christine Veto ASAP during our regular Tuesday meetings.

Thank you for your prompt response and attention to this!!

Posted by webmaster on January 14, 2013

Come out and volunteer at the Douglas County Outdoor Education Center in Larkspur CO (Directions: http://goo.gl/maps/1fGXS ) for my Eagle Project I will be building a trail and doing fire mitigation and I need lots of help! There will be lots to do including cutting down trees, clearing ground cover, piling wood and brush, laying wood chips, and much more. I will need roughly 20 scouts and 8 adults but there won’t be a limit on volunteers! I also need some people to volunteer to bring tools I have a list of what’s needed so let me know if you have tools that maybe helpful. Lunch and drinks will be provided but try to remember your water bottle and dress according to the weather as this is an outdoor project. Thanks and I hope to see you there!

See the info page for more information.

Some Eagles Need Your Prayers

Posted by Mark Abell on January 3, 2013

colemansTroop 16,

It is with great sadness that I report this story to the troop. Our Former Scoutmaster and Eagle Scout, Mr. Prescott Coleman, his son Eagle Scout Connor Coleman, his wife Mrs. Elizabeth Coleman, their daughter, and the rest of the Coleman family, need your prayers. On Saturday, December 29th, Mr. Coleman’s parents (pictured here), were involved in a head-on crash near their home in Durango. Mr. Coleman’s mother, Judith, died in the crash.

Mr. Coleman’s father, Jeremy (Eagle Scout), suffered significant injuries in the crash, including multiple broken bones in his face, back and leg. He was stabilized at a hospital in Durango, and then flown to St. Anthony’s Hospital. He has undergone one of several surgeries, but at this point the prognosis for full physical recovery looks good.

Mr. Abell will keep in touch with the Coleman family, and will communicate any needs they may have.

For now, please just keep the entire Coleman family in your prayers, that God may bless the senior Coleman with a speedy recovery, and may bless the rest of the family with His peace and strength in their hour of need.

Updates will be posted here.
