It’s time again for our annual popcorn sale! Order forms were distributed at the August 6, 2019 meeting and will be available throughout the popcorn season. Please look at the 2019 Popcorn Page at https://bsa16.org/v3/camping-activites/2019-popcorn-information for important information and popcorn related dates. You can sign up for Show N Sells and Storms at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0f44a4a82aab9-2019. All scouts should create an account at trails-end.com in order to receive prizes for their sales. This is a new requirement this year.

The Troop is helping out with Tour de Cure on September 7, 2019. The event needs help with keeping the grounds clean and holding flags at the start and finish lines. Troop 16 will participate in the Denver Area Council Camporee Sept 20-22 at Peaceful Valley Scout Ranch. The sign up is open now. Please register only on TroopTrack (Please do not sign up on the Council’s camporee website). The fee is more than usual but includes the council’s $35 camporee fee plus the troop’s normal camping fee to cover meals. Questions? November 9, 2019 is Scout Day with the CU Buffs football! Tickets start at $30 for the Buffs homecoming game vs. Stanford.
Each scout in attendance will receive a unique Colorado Football patch and be invited down on the field for a recognition segment. Tickets start at $30 with $5 from every ticket sold going back to the Denver Area Council.

Reach new heights! Come and climb a 14er on the next campout. Earn a Fourteener Club patch or a star! We will camp near by and learn to use backpacking stoves. We will also focus on learning outdoor ethics. Sign up closes on 8/13. Email Mr. Smith with questions.

July 23rd, 2019 will be a memorable day for Avery B as he became the 140th Eagle Scout that has come from Troop 16. For his Eagle Project, Avery made and purchased calming products for children with Autism through Firefly Autism.

PARKER BREWFEST – SATURDAY AUGUST 17, 2019 For the 3rd consecutive year, the Cherry Creek Valley Rotary Club has asked Troop 16 for our help during Parker Brewfest. This fundraising event allows the Rotary Club to provide financial assistance to local charitable and community causes as well as to international projects.
We are looking for both adult and scout volunteers to work 4 hour shifts on Saturday and in return you will have money deposited in your scout account. Based on last year’s results each shift worked by either an adult or a scout equated to about $50 in your account!
Our duties include bringing ice to the vendors throughout the event, filling and emptying water containers at each vendor station, trash duty, and helping with the setup and breakdown of the event.
